Corporate internship in Fukuoka

Anyone who takes one of our four-week language courses (shortest time required) is eligible for corporate internship in Fukoka, Japan. The work experience is unpaid and can last up to 9 months.

The aim of our work experience is to give participants an insight into Japanese society, politics, economy and culture. Participants will experience this by living with their host family as well as finding out how Japanese companies work. This is an experience of a lifetime and successful participants will be able to become part of Japanese society and business life.

Companies: We can offer work experience in almost any type of business: administration, port authorities, small and medium sized companies, as well as well-known businesses such as Hitachi. Some companies will be able to provide you with ‘pocket money’.

Specifics and Goals of Internships

The goal of these internships is to show its students the social, political, economic, and cultural worlds of today’s Japan by experiencing home stays and observing professional lifestyles and corporate systems. Students in this program must be interested in economics because they are the future corporate leaders, future business partners, and potential customers. In the future, some of the students may even work for Japanese companies in their country or international companies in Japan. All of our internship companies are only of the highest universal reputation and include trading companies, banks, cosmetic companies, educational institutions, and many other major businesses.

Requirements

Japan initiated Working Holiday Programmes with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Republic of Korea, France, Germany and the United Kingdom to let young people go through corporate internships in each other’s countries for a maximum of nine months, using working holiday visas.
The student must be hard working, between the ages of 18 and 26, and have a good enough knowledge of Japanese where he can converse with and read the language at companies without any major problems.
We recommend eight to twelve weeks of language courses before the corporate
internships for intermediate level students. Students may go through a
maximum of the same number of internship days as his language courses.

Application

We recommend that applicants prepare a good letter of application while in Japan. You also need to present to the Japanese companies our Language Certificate which you can get at Asahi Japanese Conversation School in. In addition to that, you will need to fill out an application form clearly stating your purpose and reason of interest in the studies and attach a face photo. During the course, students will visit the appropriate companies with our school staff and will go for interviews after the course ends. The brokerage fee (32 000 ¥) will be refunded if the student cannot find a company he likes, but this is highly unlikely. Students may pay the fee after they arrive at the school.

Administration fees

In the unlikely case that we might not be able to find the right placement for you, we are happy to refund the administration charge for work experience.
Administration charge: 269,- €, payable to the school.

Accommodations

We recommend home stays so that students will be able to experience everyday Japanese life during their short visits. Friendships that develop from home stays will last forever, and with the home stay families, students will be able to use and enhance the Japanese that they learn in classes. During the internship, students can have their own room plus breakfast for for 136 € per week or a single room in a shared flat for 128 € per week. We recommend you to book your accommodation when booking your language course as there will be a charge of 15000 Yen for late accommodation booking. All homes are within Fukuoka, but some are far from the school. Homes will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis with the closer homes given out first.
